Frito-Lay issued a voluntary recall Tuesday of Lay’s Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips due to undeclared milk ingredients.
The recall was initiated after the company discovered bags of Lay’s Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips were filled with another flavor of potato chips, potentially exposing consumers to undeclared milk, the notice reads. Those allergic to milk or with a severe sensitivity could run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they ate the chips, the Food and Drug Administration says.
The products covered by this recall were distributed in: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The recall applies to bags of 1 oz., 1 1/2 oz., 2 5/8 oz., 7 3/4 oz., 12 1/2 oz. and 15 1/2 oz. Frito-Lay says no other Lay’s products, regardless of size or flavor are being recalled.
