Portion of Prospect Road closed through October
Prospect Road in Baldwin Borough is closed between Beryl Drive and the entrance to the Carapel Townhouses, according to the Allegheny County Department of Public Works. The closure is expected to end in October and will be followed by periodic single-lane closures through November.
The restrictions are required for slope stabilization work. That includes installation of a rock embankment, concrete barrier, erosion and sedimentation control, and pavement markings, as well as excavation, drainage repairs, clearing and grubbing, milling and paving.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured using East Willock Road and Streets Run Road. During the periodic single-lane closures, traffic will be controlled using flaggers. Nearby residents will have access to their homes at all times.
