The land-applied manure from Mlsna East Town Dairy ran into an unnamed tributary west of Knapp Valley Road and entered Knapp Creek. The DNR said about 3,000 gallons of manure left the field.
Immediately after the spill, authorities found dead fish in the tributary flowing south along the road, as well as in Knapp Creek. So far, DNR staff reported 118 dead trout in the area.
An investigation is still ongoing.
