Welcome to Saturday’s Marlins (8-11, -1 RD) vs. Giants (13-7, +12) game thread. Barring a postseason matchup, this four-game set will be the final meeting between these teams in 2021.

He’ll become the youngest Marlins player to appear in a regular season game since the late, great José Fernández in 2013...Jazz Chisholm Jr. is now tied for the team lead with four home runs, in addition to having sole possession of first in stolen bases (four) and total bases (34)...Corey Dickerson is seeking his 200th career double, but it seems that I’m jinxing him by continuing to mention that every day. Let’s forget about that pending milestone until Dickerson actually gets there.

He is not accustomed to pitching on back-to-back-to-back days (last did it in April 2018)...Alex Cobb is the only pitcher in the majors who has thrown more splitters than Gausman has this season (116). Why is that worth mentioning? Because Marlins batters have seen fewer splitters this season—only six total pitches!—than any other team.
