Camp Fish Tales will hold its fifth annual Fish Races on Friday, Aug. 20. All proceeds benefit Camp Fish Tales programming, scholarships and camp maintenance.
Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 5:30 and post time is 6:30.
The event includes pari-mutuel betting on wooden fish. Six fish will race in each heat on a custom track. Admission is $25 per person and includes dinner and an evening of gambling fun.
The event is BYOB. You must be 18 to attend and to place bets. Tickets are available at www.campfishtales.org or by calling 989-879-5199.
The event's honorary chairs this year are Mark and Kim Baczewski.
“We are honored to support and advocate for Camp Fish Tales. Our region is fortunate to have an organization that provides meaningful programs that benefit so many,” said Kim Baczewski.
Kim is the Executive Vice President of the Charles J. Strosacker Foundation. Mark is a business teacher at H.H. Dow High School. They are graduates of Central Michigan University and Mark has an MBA from Northwood University.
Camp Fish Tales is a barrier-free, accessible camp on 67 acres on the corner of Erickson and Old State roads between Pinconning and Linwood. The camp serves individuals of all ages with varying types of disability in order to ensure an enjoyable and enriching experience for all campers.
