Alabama waters will allow free fishing during National Fishing and Boating Week.
Residents and out-of-state visitors can fish for free in freshwater and saltwater on June 8.
Reef fish endorsement will not be required.
The Natural Resources Commissioner says this is an opportunity for anyone who has not experienced casting a line to give it a try.
The free fishing day occurs during Alabama's red snapper season.
