TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A massive alligator was caught on a Texas beach munching on a more than 28-inch bull redfish over the weekend.
The video, captured on Saturday afternoon by Hunter Ham, shows the gator chowing down on his lunch at Sea Rim State Park in Sabine Pass, located near the Texas and Louisiana border.

Ham said the gator wandered over to the beach from the freshwater behind the dunes to bathe in the sun.
One of his daughters chanted, “Alligator, alligator,” as Ham’s wife and three kids were safely behind him in their truck.
Ham said he’s been going to this exact spot for years and it was the first time he saw a gator on this beach.
“This chill dude had no fears for us. What a beautiful creature, at a distance. What a treat!,” Ham added.
Ham spoke to management with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, who said that gators will occasionally travel to saltwater to get rid of parasites.
“There have always been gators around the area and the beach, it’s just rare that we got it on film this day,” Ham said. “He was just catching some rays and probably going to wash off the parasites. Seemed like a chill gator.”
