Carnival food is an unrivaled simple pleasure. While some states are making drive-thru festivals and fairs possible so you can get your fried food fix while staying safe, these Zapp's fried pickles are just as gratifying.
If you've never experienced the joy of eating Zapp's Voodoo chips, they are crunchy kettle-cooked potato chips topped with a zesty and tangy mix of seasonings. The chips are coated with a combination of salt and vinegar, smoky barbecue seasoning, and a jalapeño kick to top it all off.
These fried pickles are battered with Zapp's Voodoo flavoring, rather than just a plain flour-based batter. Boxes of these fried pickles were found in the frozen section of a Harris Teeter grocery store by @Junkfoodadventures on Instagram. From the looks of it, Zapp's has an entire line of frozen snacks that you can easily heat up and prepare at home.
Besides the Voodoo fried pickles, there are boudin balls flavored with Zapp's Spicy Cajun Crawtater seasoning, which is made to taste like a crawfish boil, AKA with hints of seasoned salt and spicy cayenne pepper. Boudin balls are Cajun-style sausage and rice balls with a crunchy outer layer. For even more spice, there's also pimento cheese-stuffed jalapeño poppers topped with Hotter 'n Hot seasoning.
Pretty much all of the best flavors of NOLA can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home with this line of Zapp's snacks. All you have to do is heat them up before chowing down.
