STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A beloved Fourth of July tradition on Staten Island was held Tuesday morning: the 95th annual Huck Finn Fishing Tournament and Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Becky Thatcher Costume Contest at Willowbrook Park.
More than 50 youngsters participated in the festivities, sponsored by Zimmer Club Youth Conservation Program of Staten Island; fortunately, the events and trophy presentations concluded just before the cloudy skies opened up to torrential downpours.
