TOKYO -- Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will meet with executives from major U.S., Taiwanese, and South Korean chipmakers on Thursday for talks on investing in Japan and opening new chip plants in the country.
The meeting will include executives from Intel of the U.S., Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and South Korea's Samsung Electronics. Kishida is focused on enhancing Japan's economic security and hopes to strengthen the country's semiconductor supply chains.
